On April 26, the Ningbo Beautiful Village Fitness Walk (Haishu Station) 2025— Zhouyou Ancient Forest Hiking Event was held. With the theme "Fall in Love with Fitness; Enjoy a Healthy Life", the event attracted over 500 hiking enthusiasts.

The hiking route followed the waterways of Zhouyou Ancient Forest, passing cultural and scenic spots such as the Rice Fragrance Flower Sea Park, the Red Boat Wharf, the Thousand-Year-Old Shimatang Village, the National Digital Agricultural Park (Future Farm), and the Four-Beam Ancient Bridge Cluster, etc. Participants enjoyed both exercise and the relaxing, picturesque views.

The event also featured displays and sales of trendy bread products with discount coupons, and each participant received traditional intangible cultural heritage items. A lucky draw was held afterward, with prizes including Ancient Forest boat tours, intangible cultural heritage products, and interactive experiences at the "Two Old Men" leisure spots.

Tess, an international student from Bangladesh, said: "This is my first time joining this event. I was excited the whole way. The scenery and environment are beautiful. I’m thrilled to have such an experience."

"Beautiful Village Fitness Walk" is a large-scale public fitness brand initiative launched independently by Ningbo’s sports authorities in 2018 in response to the national rural revitalization strategy. Now in its eighth year, the event tours over 10 districts (counties/cities) annually, featuring crowd-favorite activities like hiking, outdoor trekking, healthy runs, and brisk walks suitable for all ages. It integrates traditional sports demonstrations, agricultural product markets, sports experiences, and fun competitions, attracting nearly 10,000 people yearly to explore and appreciate rural areas. This boosts rural sports tourism, empowers rural revitalization, and promotes common prosperity.

"The Haishu Station event is the third stop of the Ningbo Beautiful Village Fitness Walk series 2025. The enthusiastic sign-ups have motivated more people to engage in fitness and experience the charm of the ancient village, while deepening the integration of sports, agriculture, commerce, culture, and tourism," said a representative from the Haishu District Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Tourism, and Sports. He added that future efforts will explore the "sports+" model to cultivate new growth points for the rural economy, injecting lasting momentum into rural revitalization.

The event was hosted by the Ningbo Sports Bureau, the Ningbo Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau, and the Ningbo Sports Federation, and jointly undertaken by the Ningbo Public Fitness Guidance Center, the Haishu District Bureau of Culture, Radio, TV, Tourism, and Sports, and the Gulin Town People’s Government, Haishu District.
