Recently, the Patent Protection Association of China released the list of patent intensive products for 2024. A total of 16 products in our district have been identified as patent intensive products, with an increase of 77.8% as compared to that of 2023. The number of identified products and the number of increased products compared to those of the previous year ranked the first in the city.

It is learnt that patent intensive products refer to products that rely on patents to participate in market competition and have strong market competitive advantages. They have the characteristics of high economic benefits, high patent protection intensity, high contribution of patent value, and high dependence on patents for product competitiveness. They are usually concentrated in intellectual property intensive industries and strategic emerging industries, with high-level patent protection and high technological innovation.

Through the recognition of patent intensive products, our products have greatly improved their competitiveness in the market. From the sales volume, it can be seen that we have obtained tangible benefits." The person in charge of the Ningbo STL Automotive System Co., Ltd. said that the company's car cup holder assembly products use a total of 21 patents and have been recognized as patent intensive products for 2 consecutive years. Since the product was recognized, its annual sales have increased from over 50 million to nearly 90 million, and the recognition of patent intensive products has opened up a broader sales market for the product.

In recent years, the Market Supervision Bureau (Intellectual Property Office) of our district has conducted big data analysis on the types and industrial distribution of existing patent intensive products, combined with factors such as patent ownership and market competitiveness to conduct comprehensive evaluations of enterprises in the jurisdiction, and formulated a patent intensive product ladder cultivation plan to promote rapid growth of enterprises. As of now, more than 300 key enterprises for cultivating patent intensive products have been sorted out. In 2024, 50 new patent intensive product registrations with 177 items will be added, and 64 new registrations with 202 items will be made.

"The identification of patent intensive products can not only be used as a reference for consumption decision-making, but also as a strong proof of the progressiveness of product technology and patent market efficiency in the application of related projects."
