On February 19, 2025, the Zhejiang Orchid Enthusiasts' Third Spring Orchid Exhibition & the First Ningbo Spring Orchid Appreciation Fair opened at the Zhongxi Cultural and Creative Park in the Gulin Town, Haishu District, attracting many orchid enthusiasts and citizens to come and enjoy.

Entering the Zhongxi Cultural and Creative Park, over 300 pots of famous national orchids are neatly displayed, emitting a faint fragrance. In the exhibition hall, traditional famous products such as Lv Yun and Song Mei complement precious treasures that are currently popular in the orchid industry, such as the Jin Niu He and Yuan Meng, etc.. Each orchid has been carefully cultivated to showcase its unique posture. Many tourists stop to admire, some taking photos with their phones, while others whisper their orchid cultivation experiences to their companions.

In addition to displaying orchids, an orchid trading area was also set up on site. Orchid enthusiasts from all over the country chose their favorite varieties, and ordinary citizens purchased affordable orchids. It is reported that more than 300 exquisite orchids exhibited this time come from many parts of the country and are sent by orchid enthusiasts from various regions for exhibition and trading. Among them, the most valuable orchid is named "Hui Lan Yi Cao", with a market price of 1.5 million yuan.

Feng Xiaoyan, an orchid grower from Fujian, came here because of orchid's reputation and selected two orchids that amazed her at first glance. She decided to bring them back in their original pots. "Last year, I paid attention to the Gulin Orchid Exhibition, which can be said to be very representative in the Zhejiang Province. I was really not disappointed to come to the scene this time. This is the first time I have seen such perfect orchids, and I like them very much."

During the exhibition, the organizers not only arranged performances of classical instruments such as Guqin and pipe flute, but also invited several well-known calligraphers and painters to create calligraphy and painting works with orchids as the theme, attracting crowds to appreciate.

"The Orchid Exhibition has gone through three editions. Unlike previous years' selection methods, this year we focus more on presenting in the form of elegant collections, accompanied by traditional cultural activities such as Guqin, calligraphy and painting, and incense, allowing orchids that were originally in elegant halls to enter ordinary people's homes and allowing more people to appreciate and understand orchids, and love orchids," said Zhang Huifeng, Vice President of the Ningbo Orchid Association and Manager of Song Rhyme Orchid Garden. This event continued until February 23.

In recent years, the Gulin Town has actively developed the orchid industry, established the Song Rhyme Orchid Garden Base in the Zhongyi Village, planned an orchid cultivation base, and created a characteristic village south of the Yangtze River Delta with orchids as the theme, opening up a new path for villagers to generate income and become prosperous.
