A few days ago, nearly 30 mu of taros in the Lijiakeng Village, Zhangshui Town ushered in a bumper harvest. The villagers used farm tools to dig up the land and dig out plump taros.
"This batch of taros is now for a harvest after growing for more than three months since it was planted in mid-February. At present, the preliminary statistics show that the yield per mu is about 750 kilograms." Li Xingwei, Party branch Secretary of the Lijiakeng Village, said that the price of taros is between 13 to 15 yuan per kilogram, which is more than twice that of ordinary potatoes. Many wholesalers have made appointments to place orders.
