As one of the most abundant and national artistic forms in China's traditional cultural heritage, traditional Chinese opera is a masterpiece of Chinese culture and stands out in the world of art. The Yue Opera is the second largest opera in China and the largest local opera, with a strong sense of elegance of the region south of the Yangtze River Delta.

On August 13, the Floating Population Administration Office of the Haishu District, in collaboration with the Ningbo Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe, launched a new citizen point parent-child activity for the Traditional Chinese Opera Study Camp. This is also the first time that the Ningbo Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe launches a hands-on inquiry-based learning activity for new citizens that integrates watching, learning, and experiencing the traditional Chinese opera.

It is learnt that this activity aims to enrich the summer life of "little migratory birds", promote the popularization of excellent traditional Chinese culture, and improve the cultural and artistic cultivation of young people by understanding the local drama of Yue Opera.

A relevant person in charge of the Zhenhai District Floating Population Administration Office introduced that applicants can register to attend this event through the online application at the "Zheli New Citizen" on the application of Zheliban. Applicants with a score of 80 or above will be eligible for application for participating in the event.

During the event, Pan Qiaoqiao, the main speaker and Wang style young female role actress, explained the basic knowledge of the Yue Opera such as the opera industry, performance characteristics, and special props and so on. Xu Shanshan, a Jin style female role, and Lv Xinrong, a Xu style young man's role, demonstrated and guided basic performance techniques such as fingering and stage steps. The "little migratory birds", together with their parents, learnt the basic knowledge of the Yue Opera through detailed explanations made by the actors and actresses. After a short period of learning, the "little migratory birds" put on their traditional Chinese opera costumes and experienced the stage experience of being an "actor/ actress". Finally, the actors and actresses of the Troupe presented a wonderful performance of the classic Yue Opera segment "Chasing Fish" for the new citizen families.
