The charming hands-on inquiry-based learning in the Haishu District enables young talents to have a close contact with traditional culture

"Dear young friends, welcome to Haishu to start a new life!" In the morning of May 7, 20 young talents, organized by the Haishu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, went to the Tianyi Pavilion together to carry out a youth hands-on inquiry-based learning activity called "Visiting the Southern Book City to Search for Ancient Rhyme and Culture". They visited the Tianyi Pavilion together, experienced woodblock printing, and learnt about youth talent policies, various youth subsidy applications, and social security card usage and so on.


The Tianyi Pavilion, located in the Haishu District, boasts a long history and a rich collection of books, making it one of the landmark buildings in Ningbo. "In recent years, with the rapid development of the industrial economy in the Haishu District, more and more young talents, especially high-level talents, have been attracted to take root and develop in Haishu, forming a high-quality talent force for development." A relevant person in charge of the Haishu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau introduced that the young talents participating in the event include young doctoral and master talents who recently joined Haishu this year, as well as outstanding young talent representatives from the XbotPark Science and Technology Innovation Training Camp of the Intelligent Technology Research Institute. In the first quarter of this year, the Haishu District introduced nearly 3,500 college students, including 7 doctoral graduates and 104 master graduates, out of whom 357 are from universities of Project 985 and Project 211. At present, the total number of talents in the Haishu District reaches about 240,000.

It is particularly important to do a good job in service guarantee to attract and keep talents to stay. In recent years, the Haishu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau has actively taken practical measures in fields such as youth innovation and entrepreneurship, housing security, housing purchase, and settlement and so on, exerting every effort to ensure that young talents can work, live, and feel at ease; at the same time, the Organization Department of the CPC Haishu District Committee and some towns (townships) and subdistricts also actively collaborate to build a platform for communication, interaction, and exchanges among talents and for enhancing their friendship. "I hope to enhance Haishu's appeal to young talents through activities, and to enhance the sense of belonging and identity towards Haishu through the process of experiencing and understanding culture for new young talents." The person in charge of the Haishu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said.


During the activity, young talents experienced woodblock printing process under the guidance of their teachers. They applied ink, smoothed ink, laid paper, printed and finally lifted paper. Each talent created their desired pieces of work. This "intimate contact" with traditional culture was quite novel for young talents. "This experience brings to our eyes the traditional Chinese techniques that have been inherited for over a thousand years, especially in the bookish library of the Tianyi Pavilion, and by doing it myself, I have experienced the wisdom and exquisite craftsmanship of the ancients, as well as the vast and profound Chinese culture. Today, I have printed five ancient poems. How fruitful!" Shi Qilin said.

It is reported that the Haishu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau will also carry out multi themed interactive exchange activities for young talents, especially high-level talents working in Haishu. "We will strive to cultivate a fertile soil for nurturing young innovative talents, make the talent root system more developed, and help young talents grow stronger in Haishu." The relevant person in charge of the Haishu District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said.
