Yesterday afternoon, the fourth plenary meeting of the first session of the 12th Haishu District People’s Congress was held, and the practical projects for the benefit of the people in the Haishu District to be launched in 2022 have been passed by vote.

In order to effectively solve most concerned problems encountered by the broad masses of the people, the Haishu District has been adhering to the concept of taking the people as the center and takes the comprehensive construction of an outstanding urban area of a modern coastal metropolis as the traction. Every year, Haishu plans to implement a number of practical projects related to the vital interests of the people, so that the people can obtain more visible and tangible benefits, thus constantly improving people’s sense of gain, happiness and satisfaction. In November 2021, the solicitation of candidates for livelihood practical projects in the Haishu District in 2022 was launched. Taking meeting the people’s growing needs for a better life as the starting point and foothold, Haishu has collected 63 projects for the benefit of the people in accordance with the principle of “giving consideration to comprehensiveness, focusing on key points, going all out and acting within the ability range”. After multi-party demonstration and several special researches, 10 candidate projects for the benefit of the people were finally selected, covering culture and education, medical and health care, elderly care and disability assistance and so on.

After deliberation and voting by deputies to the first session of the 12th Haishu District People’s Congress, eight projects for the benefit of the people, namely the project for comprehensive rectification and improvement of the water environment, the medical service quality improvement project, the “Straight-A Rural Roads” construction project, the education facility reinforcement project, the urban low-lying road reconstruction project, the high-quality health care and sunshine disability assistance project, the national fitness and sports facility construction project and the affordable rental housing project, were finally determined.
