Hengjie, surrounded by Gulin on its east, Yinjiang on its south, Zhangshui and Dayin of Yuyao on its west and Jishigang on its north, has a registered population of 40 thousand and 28 villages and 2 citizen councils under its administration. Within the town, there is 53 thousand mu(unit) of bamboo forests, and thus Hengjia Town now enjoys the honor of “the largest bamboo forest in China”, winning the title of “homeland to bamboo forest in China”. There are several tourist attractions and destinations in different fields in the town, including ancient school, bamboo forest, “the red path” and Hengjie Revolution Museum. Five pillar industries of the town are production industries related to scientific instruments, measuring instruments, automobile parts, sanitary ware, and household utensils.
